Originally announced at TechEd Europe, Microsoft have today started rolling out Mobile Device Management (MDM) capabilities for Office 365 Business plans.
MDM simplifies support for BYOD policies and provides a more granular approach to handling data on employees mobile devices:
Conditional Access
Set up corporate polices so only devices managed by the company can access email and other information. Conditional access applies to Office mobile apps like Word, Excel and PowerPoint, along with other software, and uses Microsoft Intune, alongside Microsoft Azure Active Directory, to control what users can do.
Device Management
Easy security policy management, including device-level pin lock and detecting for jailbreaks on iOS phones. The Office 365 admin centre contains a rich range of reports for insight into which devices are accessing corporate data.
Selective Wipe
When an employee leaves it’s essential corporate data doesn’t leave with them. Selective wipe gives businesses the ability to removing corporate data without touching personal files.
