What is Microsoft Secure Score?

In today’s digital age, cybersecurity has become a critical concern for individuals and businesses alike. The constant evolution of technology has opened up new possibilities and opportunities, but it has also given rise to various threats and vulnerabilities. The high cost of cyber-attacks, coupled with their increasing frequency, underlines the importance of Secure Score as a cybersecurity solution. According to a recent study by [IBM] the average total cost of a data breach in 2020 reached $3.86 million, representing a 10% increase compared to 2019. To address these challenges, Microsoft has developed an innovative tool called Microsoft Secure Score. Secure Score is a comprehensive cybersecurity tool that enables organisations to assess and improve their security posture.

The use of Secure Score provides discoverability, visibility, guidance, and control which aids in identifying key metrics and trends necessary for improving a company’s overall security score. In addition to this, Secure Score enables users to compare their scores with benchmarks in order to establish important performance indicators. It also offers integration with other Microsoft products as well as reflects the completion of recommended actions by third-party solutions. Which allows organisations to compare their own scores with those of similar entities within their industry.

Your Dashboard

Within your dashboard, you’ll be able to view your Secure Score, how you compare against the industry average, and be presented with a target score. You can alter your target score depending on how quickly you’re aiming to increase your security. You’ll have the ability to increase your Secure Score at your own pace by setting your own target score through a slider on the dashboard. The higher you set your target score, the more recommended actions you will have.

Secure Score Recommendations

As mentioned above, you will be provided with a comprehensive list of recommended actions to achieve your target score. These actions can be filtered based on user impact, implementation cost, and action type. This feature enables organisations to prioritise security measures according to their specific needs. To gain more of an insight into a particular recommendation, simply click on it for detailed information about how it addresses common security concerns and contributes to an enhanced overall score. By diligently implementing these recommendations, your organisation’s security posture can rapidly improve without delay!

Secure Score Analysis

Everyone loves to see the progress they’ve made. In your Secure Score dashboard, you’ll be able to analyse how your score has changed over time, and how you compare to the average Secure Score. You can easily change the date ranges and view actions you took on specific days. Score Analyser means you can easily export the recommended action list for a specific date.
