2. Pay for Extended Security Updates (ESU)

If upgrading isn’t feasible right away, Microsoft will offer Extended Security Updates (for a price) until October 2028. But this is a short-term fix—not a strategy.

Important: ESUs come at a cost per device, per year. Over time, that adds up—potentially more than upgrading outright.
