Simply Mail Solutions, the email Hosting specialists, have greatly extended the range of mobile phones supported with their hosting services. Previously only supporting Windows Mobile 5 devices they have greatly extended the range by making syncing software and support available to users.
Commented Colin Smith, Managing Director of SMS:
“The use of mobile email is moving from the large corporate user to the smaller corporates, SMEs and individual users. We have extended our support for mobiles to a wide range of mobile email capable devices such as Nokia N and E series, Sony Ericsson M and P series, Motorola RAZR, A and V and Palm OS. Market research indicates (e.g. Gartner*) indicates that the market for mobile email is set for very dramatic growth over the next few years and we are building SMS as a well respected brand to support this growth.”
Mobile email requires two mobile capable components – the email server and of course the mobile itself. SMS supports the two leading server platforms:Microsoft Exchange and Zimbra Collaboration Suite. The mobile phone requires “syncing” software in order to take properly take advantage of email. This means that when the server and the mobile phone communicate they make sure that the information on the mobile is up to date and “synced with the server. “Push” email is the capability to deliver email to the mobile as soon as it is received at the server and is normally included with the software on the mobile enabled phone.
Email software is included with a number of mobiles but for the others Roadsync software supported by SMS is available for download by customers from the SMS website.
